If you would like to become a Deferred Action client of the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota, one of the ways you can become a client is to attend one of our Deferred Action community workshops. The workshops are very effective in providing accurate legal advice to empower individuals to determine whether Deferred Action is right for you, and whether ILCM is the right fit for your legal and economic situation. Please only attend workshops held in or very near your city of residence.

On June 15, 2012 the Department of Homeland Security announced that, as an exercise of its prosecutorial discretion, "certain young people who were brought to this country as children and know only this country as home" will receive relief from the threat of deportation. This policy of "Deferred Action" has the potential to help up to 1.7 million people in the United States, and as many as 20,000 in Minnesota, get temporary deportation relief and work authorization.
