The Public Defender Project provides technical assistance, training, and education to Minnesota's public defenders on the immigration consequences of criminal convictions for non citizen defendants in order to avoid ineffective assistance of counsel claims for public defenders, and to reduce future need for post-conviction relief petitions based on ineffective assistance of counsel.
